Psychological aspects in families with a chronically ill child
Šoltis Smith, Katarína ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Míková, Gabriela (referee)
The work deals with psychological aspects appearing in families with a somatically chronically ill child. Based on the available literature, it defines the concept of chronicity in the pediatric population, as there is currently no consensus in this area. Furthermore, it presents a model that describes medical stress related to chronic illness in childhood and its trajectories, for anchoring survival in families. Subsequently, it describes the experience of parents in the context of the disease, as they are the main bearers of the burden of care that they must manage, along with other daily demands. A short part also deals with the survival of siblings of chronically ill children and the possibilities of interventions that can be used in this area. The Research part is devoted to the design of a validation study in the population of parents of chronically ill children, with a focus on peritraumatic survival after the diagnosis of the disease. The research proposal is situated in children's hemato oncology clinics. Keyword somatic chronic disease in pediatrics; family; peritrauma; validation study
